The first high pick of the third Intifada is nearly over with significant successes of the hunger strike. As counter measure the Israeli state forces increase the harassments and pressures on inhabitants of area C (69% of occupied west bank) to transfer out to area A of the Palestinian authority. In the on going joint struggles of the AAtW with the popular comities and activists, Nebi Saleh still get the most of the harassments. Quaddum and Beit Ummar, which are too locations of regular struggle which is beyond the initial joint struggles against the separation fence, get the on going pressure and punishment to prevent the expansion to the other villages and small towns. Within Israel comrades were involved with the struggle against deportation of African refugees and racial incitement against them. The summer wave of the Israeli 'Occupy' social struggle is now blooming

Beit Ommar

"For the last three straight demos, plus during a farmer accompaniment activity, 4 members of the Beit Ummar popular committee have been arrested. A 5th has been in jail for over 2 months. Younes Arar was arrested today, along with 2 internationals. We have been overwhelmed with bail and legal fees. Please consider donating on our website, www.palestinesolidarityproject.org/donate and contact me to help with other fundraising.
Younes being released Sunday on bail. One international released yesterday and one today with a restraining order from Carmi Tzur. B."

Bil'in

5 Israelis, two dozen internationals and few dozen Bil'iners participated in the weekly demonstration against the separation wall and occupation. The Israeli state force was mild most of the time. Due to a friendly wind and mostly passive soldiers we had a relatively peaceful half hour with only sporadic spray salvos of the skunk water spray that was not so poignant. Afterwards the direction of wind changed and we were slowly driven away - first to the near by groove by the skunk water, and later further away by a barrage of tear gas. Afterwards came the second barrage of tear gas canisters that drove away even the more resistant of us and we returned to the village.

Ma'asara

Friday, demonstrators Protest Apartheid.
Dozens of Palestinians, joined by participants from around the world, held a peaceful protest, demanding an end to the occupation and to the construction of the apartheid separation wall.
Al-Ma’sara is one of many Palestinian villages to be cut off from access to its agricultural lands and water supplies by illegal Jewish settlements in the West Bank. Peaceful protestors have gathered after Friday prayers every week for the past six years to demonstrate against the illegal Israeli occupation of Palestine.
For the most part these demonstrations have been met with Israeli military blockade, but only rarely with violence – the same cannot be said for other peaceful weekly protests around the West Bank. Some Israeli soldiers laughed and spoke with a multinational group from the United States and Europe. They spoke of their own begrudging participation in the blockading of the streets of al-Ma’sara each week to squash civil participation in such protests and demonstrations. At least one soldier issues verbal threats and swore at the peaceful demonstration, which included several unarmed children.

Nabi Saleh

Friday pre-dawn invasion to deter the noon demonstration? Reports from Nabi Saleh that the IOF invaded the village about an hour (approx 3.30 am Palestine Time). After firing live ammunition, they left the village approximately a half hour ago.
Friday demo: Palestinian medical sources reported Friday that at least ten protesters were wounded in Nabi Saleh village, near the central West Bank city of Ramallah, after Israeli soldiers attacked the weekly nonviolent protest against the Wall and settlements in the village.
The protesters dubbed this week’s protest as the “Friday of Defending the Lands and the Detainees”. Ramallah and Al-Biereh Governor, Laila Ghannam, and representatives of the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate participated in the protest, along with Israeli and international peace activists.
The soldiers fired teargas bombs and rubber-coated metal bullets at the protesters, and also sprayed them with Skunk-water, leading to at least ten injuries.
The army prevented the protesters from reaching the main entrance of the village that has been closed for more than two weeks now, denying the residents the right to enter and leave their village through it. Thus, they are forced to use round about and unpaved roads. The army keeps closing the main entrances of the village as an act of punishment carried out against the residents for holding nonviolent protests against the illegal Annexation Wall and Israel’s illegal settlements.
Clashes were reported between local youths and the invading Israeli soldiers. Youths hurled stones and empty bottles at the soldiers and the army fired gas bombs, rubber-coated metal bullets and concussion grenades.

Susya!

60% of the West Bank is defined as C area which is under full Israeli control.

These are the main land reserves that the Israeli Government is intending for the expansion of the settlements.

Last week a demolition order was issued to an entire Palestinian village – Susya.

The aim is clear: expelling the Palestinian residences of areas C and deepening the Israeli control over their lands.

Join Us for an emergency action!

This coming Friday, 22 June, we will stand in Solidarity with the residence of Susya who are determined to stick to their lands.

They are facing the might force of the Israeli Government and its right wing coalition, the army the Civil Administration, settlers associations and discriminatory laws.

We will stand with them!

Hundreds of Palestinians, Israelis and internationals demonstrated today in Susya, southeast of Hebron, to protest the impending demolition of the village and in show of solidarity with local inhabitants. The protest was organized by a coalition of organizations (Solidarity, Ta’ayush, Tarabut, Rabbis for Human Rights and many of the activists of the anarchists against the wall participated in it too) in coordination with the local committee. In addition, members of the Hebron Defense Committee and delegates from Bil’in were in attendance. Protesters marched from the current location of the village to lands that had been previously expropriated, carrying Palestinian flags and banners, and chanting in Arabic, Hebrew and English, where they were met with several IOF jeeps and foot soldiers and police officers, who brutally tried to suppress the march and push them back towards the village. When protesters stood their ground the IOF used stun grenades and tear gas, which caused several injuries, including one 18 year old Israeli activist who was rushed to the hospital sustaining a head injury from a stun grenade. A skunk truck was also present, and although it was constantly aiming at protesters to intimidate them, the IOF refrained from actually using it.

Friday 22-6-12. Amazing demonstration Susya. Little more than four hundred Israelis and 200 Palestinians with internationals among them demonstrated. Palestinians and Israelis, shouting against the destruction and depopulation of the village had expected such horrors past knowledge. The army tried to scare the skunk truck and left without some guzzle gas and stun grenades, one protester was injured and needed stitches in his head. Thanks to all who came to show solidarity with the residents. Promise to continue to update on the continuing struggle Susya.
‎19 years old Israeli conscientious objector sustains head injury from a tear gas canister in Susiya. He's taken to Hospital in Jerusalem for stitches. He'll be ok.

Tel Aviv

Media: Daphni Leef, one of the [more principled leading figures who do not search route to be co-opted by the parliamentarian road. I.S.] leaders of Israel's social justice protest movement, was arrested by police on Friday afternoon during a demonstration on Tel Aviv's Rothschild Boulevard. http://www.haaretz.com/polopoly_fs/1.440484.1340372282!/image/1190000243.jpg_gen/derivatives/landscape_640/1190000243.jpg
The demonstration, which began around noon, was meant to revive the social justice protests that swept Israel last summer [with symbolic restoring the tent camp in the Rothschild boulevard. I.S.]. A further 11 protesters were also arrested.
Several hundred demonstrators carried tents to the site, which they attempted to set up along the street. However, municipal inspectors and police prevented them from placing the tents on the ground and began arresting protesters.
Leef was dragged by force into a waiting police car, prompting hundreds of demonstrators to block the road with their bodies in an attempt to prevent the car from leaving the site.
The protesters knocked over trash cans and shouted chants criticizing Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
However, after several moments the police car managed to leave the scene, with Leef inside.
The eleven arrested were released in the morning after 7 hours of refusing to give them medical care.

"Tel Aviv Occupy": Saturday, a demonstration to protest police and city tugs harassment of the participants of the Friday noon demo.
Thousands converged in Rothschild and Habima intersection in Saturday late evening in protest of the Friday brutality harassment of the social struggle activists the same place by the city tugs and police.
The police force tried in vain to block our way to the City square, but there were too many alternative routes for them to block all... and we were too many for corralling tactics.
Only after more than an hour they gave in, and just moved to protect near by banks fronts.
The Iben Gvirol main street was occupied and the masses converged at the near by banks and city main administrative building. After more than an hour of low intensity confrontation with police and an hour of anger expressed toward the banks, (resulting in few glass vitrines broken, people marched towards other main high ways. About 89 participates were arrested - mainly near the banks.
In the morning, 75 were released at the police station. 14 were brought to court and prosecutor asked for detaining them till end of trial. The judge criticized the police and prosecution, and released most of them with restriction from the demo region till next Saturday night, three were restricted for the whole two coming weeks :).

textPalestine-Israel, The joint struggle really changed the world* 21:50 Sat 05 Sep by Ilan S. 0 comments

The failed arrest of 12 year old child in Nabi Saleh caused a million views storm in the media. This situation and the next Friday of the joint struggle demonstrated again how the involvement of the AATW Israeli Jews prevented in the past and prevent now the extinguishing of the non armed Palestinian struggle with rivers of blood. It was one shooting of Gil Naamati in 2003 in a joint action of the anarchists AATW that caused a real wide media scandal in Israel (which forced the higher commander of the army to visit him at hospital and apologize) that resulted in the change of shooting order about dispersing non armed demonstrations in the occupied lands when Israelis are involved. In addition to our helping to distribute the news, Our main contribution is the supply of "life insurance" to the Palestinians and even to the stone throwers in the demos.... though it is not perfect and along the years about 20 were killed and many more were injured. It is hard for many activists when the real meaning of the struggle are not concrete achievable gains, but a global worldwide struggle. This week, the concrete and the global merged when the struggle against the destruction of Susiya village recruited international support and forced Israel to delay or even cancel the demolition of the village. Pressure from the imperial powers on Israel was joined by European warning about approaching sanctions against the Israeli banking system for its involvement in the settlers' projects in the occupied West Bank. It seems the erosion of Israeli immunity from paying for its war crimes is collecting momentum. The Israeli media is full of news about B.D.S. - the joint struggle in which thousands of international activists participate, contributing a lot. The heroic Bil'in, Ni'lin, Nabi Saleh, Qaddum, Ma'sara, and Sheikh Jarrah keep the weekly flame from extinguishing. [Italiano]

The non armed joint actions - mainly few Friday demos, do not cause the Israeli armed forces much load. However, the focusing of the media on these, and more so the international activist participating in them who enhance the international struggle when they return home, really worry the Israeli authorities. Their borders screening which succeed to prevent the entry of activists is not much effective. The Israeli ruling elite is not in panic yet, but lately they worry a lot. The president of Israel warn that the development of the B.D.S. must cause a real concern. The threat of the expulsion from the FIFA cause Israel to make concession to prevent the voting and even agreed to a special monitoring comity. The subject of the B.D.S. is more and more in the media and many of the speaker admit their fear from its intensifying. [Italiano]

The election which was a response to rebellion in the elite - threatening to restrict his daily newspaper - resulted in a partial defeat. He is dependant now on the support of the center-right party and the orthodox parties, and now he is trying desperately to regain control. The mounting pressure on Israel threatens to take a fast escalation. It is already expressed in the threat to expel Israel from FIFA and of intervention of the Hague Court. The French initiative in the UN security council is approaching. The escalation in transfer actions - both within Israel and the West Bank is an effort to recruit at least the support of orthodox parties and the extreme right. In spite of harsher efforts to repress the Palestinian struggle - both in occupied east Jerusalem and the popular non-armed struggle the struggle continues. The very optimistic activists already feel the approaching victory. [Italiano]

The B.D.S. which intensify the pressure not only worry the Israeli elite - it already caused a split in it. The split expressed in the initiation of law against the Netaniahu daily caused him to dismantle his coalition and call for election. The result was even worse for him. He lost the majority of the hard core right. The 61 (versus 59) coalition was achieved only with Kakhlon center-right that already blocked the main rightist moves and some of the extreme neoliberal tendency. A new power balance in the Israeli elite may result with a near future coalition with the pseudo left party Zionist List or even entirely different coalition without Netaniahu or even without the Licud party. With this back ground, transfer of Palestinians intensify - both citizens of Israel and in the occupy west bank... And the repression and struggle continue in Bil'in, Ni'ilin, Nebi Saleh, Qadoom, Ma'asarah, Sheikh Jarrah, South Hebron Hills and sporadicly in other places. [Italiano]

With the conviction that our main contribution is not so much in changes on the ground but in the spirit of the struggle of the participants and the fulcrum we provide to the international lever. The gradual increase in international pressure which the Israeli high court verdict is that is a criminal act for Israeli to promote causing already much of damages in the economy of occupation and concern of the Zionist-colonialist Israeli ruling Elite. We see here again how small number of activists can initiate a turn in the course of history when it is applied in the ripe cross-road. It started in a small joint camp in Masha 2003 for struggle against the separation fence, after the idea raised half a year earlier in the European People Global Action conference in Leiden - in which activists from the East of the Mediterranean region participated too. The camp initiated struggles in various villages that riped at 2005 in the Bil'in struggle... which expanded and expanded...

The frustrated Israeli state force who do not dare to prevent the weekly non armed popular demonstrations - Joined and purely of Palestinians, resort to shooting on demonstrators with frequent use of live fire by snippers. In the annexed regions of Jerusalem they no more pretend it is not an occupied area and apply there the occupation procedures - both in treatment of detaining children and houses demolition. The "hot" areas of the popular non armed struggle gradually expand but still far away from a general uprising. The international popular struggle worry the Israeli elite but the damages to the Israeli economy is still in the margins. It seems the Zionist settler colonialist elite which bribed the tycoons section of the capitalist elite with extreme neo liberal measures cannot do it any more as other sections of the capitalist elite (backers of Cakhlon) rebelled.

textPalestine-Israel, the joint struggle in turbulent times of the fragmentation in the Zionist rilling ... 16:22 Sun 22 Mar by Ilan S. 0 comments

The merger between the Zionist leadership and the capitalist elite which started 1948 picked in the Tycoons dominance, at 20010. The "too successful" neo-liberalism was challenged by the social struggle, conflicts within the capitalist elite and threatened by international pressure yielded the diminishing power of the old order when the right lost its absolute power in the parliament depending now on the opponent of the milder Zionist right (Kachlon). It is not sure how fast the retreat in the neo-liberal trend and the defeat of the Tycoons combined with the international pressure will yield also retreat in the advance of the Zionist settler and transfer effort. Mean time the joint struggle continue in Bil'in, Ni'ilin, Nebi Saleh, Kadum, Ma'asarah, Southern Hebron Hills, Sheikh Jarrah, the Bedouins of the south, Dahamsh... with additional locations from time to time. [Italiano]

textPalestine-Israel, The joined struggle in a decisive year* 00:42 Tue 10 Mar by Ilan S. 0 comments

The minimal pressure of the imperial power on Israel to soften its pressures applied to the would be transfered Palestinians of the 1967 occupied areas have its results (more in the west bank than in the Gaza Ghetto). The about 100.000 Palestinians of the occupied territories are employed by Israelis. Most of the roadblocks were removed. The rebellion of the Palestinians in the west bank is channeled mostly through a small minority of activists in the joint and separate week end activities. People are like holding their breath to see if the culminated crisis in the international arena will yield a significant break throw. Mean time, the persistent week end struggles - though in a diminished intensity in Bil'in, Ma'asara, Ni'ilin, Nabi Saleh, Qaddum, South of Hebron Hills, Sheik Jarrah... with sporadic struggles in other locations. The Kobane resistance that has passed its 45th day as of now has caused the attention of revolutionaries all over the world to turn to Rojava. As a result of the work carried out by Revolutionary Anarchist Action (DAF), anarchist comrades from many parts of the world have sent messages of solidarity to the Kobane resistance.(1) This internationalist stance without a doubt carries great importance for the people resisting in Kobane. However if we do not analyze what is happening in all its truth and if we romanticize instead, our dreams will turn to disappointment in short order.

imageHorizons for the Syrian revolution May 23 by Mazen Kalmamaz 0 comments

The main features of the Syrian revolution are its youthful, spontaneous aspect, and the fact that it was created on the streets and is linked directly to the people. It is a revolution without centralized control, led by insurgent individuals. Consequently, no-one can claim to govern it or lead and the reason is simple: the young insurgents rose up spontaneously and there are no signs of participation by religious elements, whose ideas are extremely reactionary, or indeed by any other tendency.
