David Venegas Reyes freed!
Yesterday afternoon, David Venegas Reyes, a member of the Oaxacan collective Oaxaca Voces Oaxaqueñas Construyendo Autonomía y Libertad (VOCAL) was finally freed. According to information supplied by the legal department of Section 22, the release took place without the payment of any bail and without any charges being made since Venegas Reyes was released following confirmation that he had not committed any crime for which he could have been arrested.
It should be remembered that the arrest of Venegas Reyes came about in very unclear circumstances while he was accompanying the women's caravan which had begun its return to San Juan Copala. This is thus the beginning of the end for the media and State lynch-mob campaign against those who were accompanying the caravan on its return to San Juan Copala.
