"Black Flame" blog updated again

The Black Flame blog has just been updated. The blog collates news, views and reviews of Lucien van der Walt and Michael Schmidt's book, "Black Flame: the revolutionary class politics of anarchism and syndicalism".

Published in 2009, 'Black Flame' has been a great success. It has generated debate, has helped recover the global history of anarchism/ syndicalism, and the strategic tactical and analytical debates in the historic movement.

The book is on its second print run, and translations are in the works.

'Black Flame's' approach is thematic and analytical, drawing out key themes in the history (for example, pioneering role in Asian and African trade unions, class composition), and theory (on the one hand, the core contours of anarchist/ syndicalist theory and debates within that theory, and, on the other, the key strategic and tactical debates in the historic movement)

Its successor volume, 'Global Fire,' will be a narrative history of the movement from its origins in the 1860s, to the present, covering the world ‘from Albania to Zimbabwe’…
