The event was organised by Irish Tamil Forum. Many Tamil speaking people of Sri Lanka, India and Malaysia living all over Ireland gathered in Lantern Centre, Synge Street, Dublin 8 to pay their tribute to commemorate loved ones.

Rev Barry who recently paid a visit to Sri Lanka, gave a special speech, and shared what he witnessed in the so called rehabilitation camps, and the human rights violations by the state government on Tamils.

During the event, the Irish Tamil Forum Chairperson Kandee announced that it is aiming to sponsor at least 10 families in Mullaitheevu, Sri Lanka, who are badly affected by the war and who are suffering financially and psychologically.

The event also contained a number of cultural programmes and exhibitions showing the last phase of the war in Wanni.
