Political Statement by the 4th General Assembly of the Red Libertaria Popular Mateo Kramer

Two pleasant days of intense debate, meetings, enjoyment, great vegan food and socializing in an atmosphere of solidarity all went to create the necessary climate for our fourth General Assembly. With the evident qualitative and quantitative growth in our organization, the 12 collectives that make up the RLPMK reached the following definitions and agreements:

• The RLPMK is a libertarian and youth organization which - by means of conscious (and not naive) horizontality - is building political, social and cultural alternatives for a life of dignity and freedom from below, in the areas both geographic and non-geographic of Cundinamarca.


• Given the widespread climate of praise for the military and police forces for their clear violations of human rights "that have characterized the past eight years of government and that will surely continue in the four years to come", the urgent task taken on by the RLPMK is the fight against the militarization of life, with a special emphasis on struggle against the repression of young people, against police brutality and in support of conscientious objecting.


• In the current context of escalating imperialist aggression, with the installation of seven new US military bases in this territory, the onslaught of the transnational corporations, the political violence of dispossession and economic, social, political and cultural subjection that only serve to further root the notion of neo-colonial dependency, the RLPMK confirms its anti-imperialist position and supports Latin American unity under the framework of the sovereignty and autonomy of our peoples.


• The RLPMK reaffirms that it is part of the popular bloc of opposition and makes it a priority to cooperate with other youth sectors that are seeking to build Popular Power, and with other organizations in the Minga.
