Blockade in solidarity with the people of Greece and Gaza (Bogotá, Colombia)
Today, January 9, about 100 demonstrators gathered in the Greek embassy to show our solidarity with the people of Gaza and with the Greek Insurrection. Although we were at all times surrounded and harassed by police and other law enforcement entities, we managed to block the main street to shout and show our flags and signs. From the "Viva Anarchist Greece" written on one of the banners to the "anti-imperialism" of attendees, the rejection of all forms of capitalism’s genocide was always present. Under the chorus of "Vive Nicolás Neira” –a young anarchist killed in Bogotá in 2005 by the police– anarchists, anti-imperialists, feminists, environmentalists and other anti-capitalists began to remember all those people in Colombia and elsewhere that have been murdered by the repressive apparatus of the current system. We remembered Alexandros, Oscar Salas, Edwin Legarda and the people of Gaza, among many others. After an hour of blockade, we decided to walk towards another main street to talk with other people, distribute pamphlets and flyers and keep raising our voices of protest and solidarity.
