Deportation: a policy that leads to despair

Josiane Nardi died after setting herself on fire, in front of the press, on October 18 in front of the prison in Le Mans, as a protest against the decision to deport her partner, currently held in the prison, to Armenia. This desperate gesture comes as a response to government brutality founded on the "quota policy", which continues to claim more expulsions and permanently criminalises immigration. Between this self-immolation, the recent death of a person wanting to escape a raid by jumping out of a window, the various suicides in detention centres and the hundreds of migrants who have died on Europe's borders, responsibility for all this lies squarely with the powers.

Who benefits from anti-immigrant laws, regulations and agreements?

  • The bosses, who use them to introduce increasing casualization of labour and lower wages.
  • The ruling class, which divides the workers into Europeans and non-Europeans in order to rule more easily.
The response to this policy must be solidarity among all workers, legal or otherwise.

For this reason, we support:

  • free circulation and residence both in Europe and on an international level;
  • struggles to regularize all sans-papiers;
  • the closure and destruction of all detention centres;
  • the suppression of the Department of Raids and Deportations*;
  • the egalitarian and self-managed redistribution of wealth on a global level, requiring the abolition of capitalism.
