South Africa: Blaming The So-called 3rd Force Won’t Help

Nomzula Mokonyane must be called into order!

Johannesburg- The land and housing struggles in South Africa is a very serious issue and our government knows that is has dismally failed. There are many factors contributing to these ever continuing problems. Macro-economic policies of this country encourages cutting on social spending and the corruption from local to national municipality is very visible, and the whole thing of empowering blacks has done nothing but created a class of black bourgeoisie interested only in the balance of their bank accounts. It is undeniable that millions have disappeared through tenders and thousands of poor South African are still without their promised houses.

The RYN demands that the MEC of housing to apologies for calling the Anti-Privatisation Forum (APF) a third force! She must be wise enough to know that APF is a registered organization, well known locally and internationally. It is the very same- so called third force that defeated Amos Masondo on the 30th of April 2008 at the Johannesburg High Court.

The reality is that people are still without houses and other basic services and blaming it on the third force won’t help the situation. This is going to make matters worse, we are sick and tired of been labeled as the 3rd force. Nomvula is not the first government official to call the APF, home to many poor South Africans a third force and criminals.

The RYN will make sure that she is the last to say that, she has started what she can’t finish. Many have lost their lives because of such stupid comments- Afghanistan: George Bush was in interested in nothing but oil but justified his actions as fighting against terrorism. We are not sure what the plan behind such statements is especially as we are approaching the national elections, but we are also not scared!

We will continue to stand strong on our demands and if it means more rubber bullets, tear gas, batons, killing of our people- let it be.
