Les tambours de la guerre sonnent à nouveau au Moyen Orient. On assiste à une offensive concertée d’Israël, des États-Unis, de la France et du Royaume Uni contre l’Iran. Commencée il y a quelques semaines en Israël par un débat public sur la nécessité d’attaquer l’Iran avant qu’il se dote de l’arme nucléaire, la campagne a été relayée lors du G 20 à Nice par Obama et Sarkozy appelant à mettre une pression sans précédent sur l’Iran, et par des fuites dans la presse britannique faisant état de préparatifs de guerre du côté des USA et de la Grande Bretagne.

In the first demo, two weeks ago, about 30,000 participated in Tel Aviv; in the second, last week, there were nearly 100,000 in Tel Aviv and about 40,000 in the rest of the country. In the third, this Saturday, there were about 250,000 in Tel Aviv - the largest ever in Israel, and about 70,000 all over the country. Who knows how many will come for next Saturday's demos. The call "Revolution!" was second only to "Social justice!"

The main demands are: free education from the age of 3 months, a reduction of sales taxes and an increase in the direct taxes that the rich pay; the provision of low-cost housing to buy and rent by stopping State and municipal speculation on public land and by building small apartments and public housing; an overhaul of the public health system which the doctors' union has been demanding for several months; a stop to the precarization of workers using manpower companies; and the recruitment of 500 inspectors to enforce employer legislation regulating work - especially with regard to minimum wages.

The development of joint struggle together with the Palestinians against suppression and the Occupation, promoted by Matzpen and later by Anarchists Against the Wall, has not been done in the name of some nationalist urge or the illusion of building a Palestinian nationalist entity (so-called "national liberation"), but for simple "Liberation" - an end to Israeli settler colonialism and occupation.

Anarchists from all over the world have joined the ISM (International Solidarity Movement with the Palestinians) as individuals and members of the AAtW already participate in the local and international BDS initiative, as do many anarchist activists all over the world. Now it is time for the international anarchist movement and its various organizations, federations and collectives, to express their solidarity with our struggle by initiating and/or formally joining in BDS activities.
